Stamp Chatter!: Serene Snowflakes

Hi again,

I can't believe it's December 18 and I'm all done Christmas shopping! Not only done but everything is wrapped and ready for Santa to put under the tree come Christmas morning. Yeah! I can't remember the last time I was this prepared for Christmas. Even my Christmas cards are all out but I'm still in a stamping mood so I decided to play some more with my Serene Snowflakes stamp set from the current mini catalog.

Here are some of the cards I did today! Hope you enjoy them!

I love this card! I made a dozen or so of these cards for my DH's office staff. I used the Cracked Glass technique with the large snowflake from Serene Snowflakes. Simple, clean and elegant!

Here's a close up of the cracked glass! It's two layers of UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Powder) then put in the freezer for awhile. Once you remove it from the freezer you carefully bend the cardstock to form cracks in the image. Don't crack too much or you'll end up with chunks coming off your image. You could use regular embossing powder but would probably have to layer it 3-4 times for the same effect.

This next card is a simple triptych with the new Real Red Satin Ribbon. I'm crazy about the new Satin Ribbon coming up in the next mini catalog! I've ordered almost every color! If you loved the Chocolate Satin Ribbon from last year's holiday mini you're going to love this new ribbon. The ribbon is 5/8" wide and will come in nine different colors: Basic Black, Real Red (as in my card above), Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Basic Gray

If you can't tell by now I'm a little obsessed with Real Red and Soft Suede. Not sure why, just love the color combo! Here's another simple card - same Real Red Satin Ribbon as above.
